Volunteer opportunities available to train as a Parent Group Leader

Despite the current lockdown restrictions, the Burnley Empowering Parents Empowering Communities (EPEC) Hub team has been busy generating interest amongst parents in becoming volunteer Parent Group Leaders in the Burnley community.

The team has successfully recruited a group of enthusiastic and committed volunteers who are keen to participate in the training and facilitate parenting groups and have been hosting fortnightly virtual sessions with the group to provide an induction to the volunteer roles, discuss elements of the training and improve skills which have been successful in keeping volunteers engaged and motivated during lockdown.

The Parent Group Leader training is due to start on Thursday 15th April and there are a few remaining places available for potential volunteers.

The EPEC Parenting Programme is a peer-led approach to parenting which is delivered by parents in their local community and supported by professionals to ensure that volunteers have the skills and support to deliver high quality parenting courses in their community.

Further information is included in the leaflet and role description and, if you would like to find out more, please contact a member of the team:
