Update on Burnley parenting programme

Empowering Parents Empowering Communities (EPEC) is coming to Burnley very soon.  EPEC Parenting Programmes are peer-led parenting programmes that they are delivered by parents in the community and supported by professionals to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge to deliver a high quality parenting courses.

The EPEC team has already been successful in recruiting upwards of eight volunteers who would like to become parent group leader volunteers. There are still a limited number of volunteer spaces on the training programme.

We fully appreciate that giving time and commitment during the current lockdown and the closure of schools and nurseries has created additional challenges for parents and we have therefore delayed the start of the formal Parent Group Leader (PGL) course until such time as schools and nurseries re-open. However we have an interesting programme of taster sessions planned for the coming weeks.
